The Headwrap Expo
Dearborn, MI
May 17th, 2015
Ford Community & Performing Arts Center
So let’s talk about my beat face for a sec. This green dramatic cut-crease was everything. Thanks Madinah 🙂
Jannah (in the middle) was the fashion and event coordinator for the expo. She invited me to speak about my personal style, catching good deals, and how to walk in any room and own it!
My lil sis, also named Jannah, came out to support. Like our ugly fake laughs? Ha.
My fashionable friend, Cassy, also came out to support! Love her dress.
Model, Aliyah, rocking a custom made dress and turban.
My hubby came and showed out of course. Man Style!
Oh, look, there’s Etta and Jennifer from Naturally Flyy Detroit.
End of the day photo shoots after the show.

2015 is only hours away. It is truly a time to reflect and be grateful. This year was both challenging and awesome. I finished a thesis paper, I was invited to be in my first blogger fashion competition, and I was interviewed on a New York radio station. Wow. Never in a million years would I think that anyone would be interested in me enough to invite me on a show.
2015 will be our year! And I am also launching a new fashion channel on YouTube. Stay tuned for that.
Myself and the people who are inspired to get up every day and DO something to make a change for themselves and for others, I truly commend you.
I have one last thing to say to all my readers, supporters, and fashionable friends before I see you in the new year: Keep going. Never let anyone dull your glitter 🙂
Check out these fab photos before you leave…
This will be the first and last time you see my face naked like this!
My friend, Madinah, the MUA wanted to practice her skills. So, I played the mannequin. She starts out by shaping, contouring, and shading the eyebrows.
She blends the colors on my eye lids, then adds some false lashes for glamour and drama.
The concealer and foundation process begin. I look like Simba from the Lion King 🙂
The finished process. She finished the look with an ombre lip. A queen in the making.
Model Behavior. I love makeup.
I am wearing a dress I got from Dot’s a few years ago, and the blazer is from Torrid. The makeup was done and turban wrapped by Madinah.

I had a photo shoot with Langston Hues last week and I wanted to go for army chic with a pop of color.
***(How do you guys like my new editing skills?)
This photo is not edited. Big difference, eh? Let’s do a quick OOTD breakdown!
The two scarves I wore for my turban twist were from Forever 21, the yellow blazer and peach kitten heels were from Torrid, the army fatigue peplum top and pants were from Rainbow Clothing.
Ohhh kill em! Got the beat down by Madinah.
Throwing up the deuces (Chris Brown).
I am so blessed to have a wonderful makeup artist. I love the lashes. I loved the colors. I am a makeup fanatic.

I don’t know if anyone noticed but I am trying to take over the world. All my life I have been bursting with creative energy and never allowed to explore it. I just turned 26, I have all types of issues ranging from my job and etc. etc. etc. But I am on a mission. I have seen too many things that I must attempt to have. I have three goals. To be a happy and good person. To be a writer. To be in the fashion industry. This is my journey…
These are photos taken with a cell phone. No edits. Yes, I am that fine. And yes, Madinah beat my face to a pulp. The theme for this shoot was “Color Explosion”.
Behind the scenes. Davide took some really nice pics.
I’m reading InStyle Magazine!
The Mastermind behind the makeup. MUA: Madinah
Easy. Breezy. Beautiful. Cover Girl.
The orange turban scarf, the paisley scarf around my neck, and blouse are from Forever 21. The jewelry is from Dots Fashions. The yellow blazer is from Torrid. The blue pants are from Rainbow. The wedges are from Cato’s.
After shoot bloopers.
The day started out with a missed flight and a super late arrival to Bloomingdale’s in NYC. I almost gave up and didn’t go at all. I was discouraged because I missed the show. Then I saw some amazing pictures from several official bloggers from the Full Figured Fashion Week crew and got re-inspired. Â I hoped on the bus and then the nearest subway with a friend I’d just met and we embarked on a fashion journey…
I did my makeup in like two seconds and hoped on the subway.
The show had just ended. I was so mad!
I sulked and ate a delicious lemon tart.
I did what made me feel better: posing 🙂
Things started to look up. I got to meet a wonderful photographer from Paris. Then I started to meet other cool Stylistahs as well. JOY.
I met a cool gal named Amirah Taylor, the CEO of “Please Feed The Models” and she invited me to a show in NYC in July. Plus we have the same names. Coincidence? Or destiny.
I had to capture this retro Stylistah. Camelia is a model and a make-up artist. I love the way she mixed all my favorite colors in one. Rockin’ Retro is what I call it.
Paris is a writer, singer, and creative innovator. And her style is awesome.
Acting silly with Bumblebee from the Transformers.
As you can tell, we are engaged . He put a ring on it.
I told her to give me Fierce and look how the pic turned out. A little midriff and little leg never hurt anyone. NYC style star.
I found these two adorable young ladies in turbans and blouses. The best of combinations in my opinion. One is sporty, one is skirty. Love it!
And I just want to say for the record, the army fatigue shirt I am wearing in these pics has been lost while I was traveling from NYC to Pennsylvania. Tears. I only got to wear it once…
