When bloggers get together, it gets a little crazy. We take random usies.
We pretend to act cool. Haha.
We even stick our tongues out.
But deep down, we genuinely share a love for fashion and art. We strive to inspire through our creations.
We come from different backgrounds.
Somehow we just fit together.
Creating new friendships.
I am always the crazy one. Lol
Shout out to Bobcat Bonnie’s for housing us rowdy bloggers. Food was good and the service was on point.

NYFW: Part Two
September 13, 2015
Dumbo, Brooklyn
This is part two of my NYFW journey. So after being denied access to Rachel Zoe’s show, I took the subway (with my large baby blue tutu) to Dumbo, Brooklyn to the Essence Street Style Awards. I met up with some native Detroiters, met a buddy from Boston, my bestie Kait, and of course, I took some bomb street style photos. Check em’ out:
Preggers n’ Chic: she basically took three different concepts and smashed them together. And it worked.
Loving the different textures here.
Oh, hi there. I caught this fashionista in mid-convo.
I was immersed in so many turban looks.
Large shades, clutches, and kilts.
I can’t even tell you all the things I love about this ensemble. Just love!
Natural hair. Don’t care.
Basically, this pic was taken under my umbrella when the rain decided to pour down on us fashionistas. Kori is a local blogger from the D. She stays selfie ready.
I guess I did take over NYFW after all.

Jordan: Hey guys, I’m Jordan the creator and curator of Lil Miss JB Style! When I’m not styling clients or working out I enjoy stuffing my face with great food, dancing around my house to music that’s entirely too loud and exploring MI with my trusty sidekick & dog Ana! www.lilmissjbstyle.com
*And it’s her birthday today!*

Q: What was the inspiration/story behind your look?
Jordan: This look was actually inspired off of a few different NYFW shows for this fall/winter season and was spotted on Olivia Palermo shortly after.
Q: How would you define your style?
Jordan: Honestly I can’t define my style, I’m a Jill of all trades, well…of all styles. I think the crux of my style revolves around ease, comfort and wearing what makes me feel confident regardless of if I am dressing for work or the weekend.
Q: Who are your style icons?
Jordan: I honestly draw inspiration from so many people, but if I had to name a few they would be: Esther Quek, Olivia Lopez, Mary Seng, Christina Caradona and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Q: Where do you like to shop?
Jordan: Everywhere! Lol no really, I don’t like to limit myself because you can miss out on some gems that way. My favorite places to shop are definitely ASOS, H&M, and TJ Maxx.
Q: Have you ever been to NYFW, if so when and what was your fave part?
Jordan: Sadly I haven’t been yet, but I’m saving up for next year 😀
Q: Who is your fave designer?
Jordan: Gaaah, honestly I don’t hang on designers like most fashion people but I definitely enjoy Altuzzara.
Q: Whose show are you most looking forward to this year?
Jordan: I really am interested to see Pyer Moss, especially since he’ll be showing a video addressing racism.
Q: What do you like about NYFW more, the runway shows or the street style and why?
Jordan: Street style hands down! Unless you’re a fashion maven or celebrity a lot of the ready to wear clothes just don’t seem functional to me, but the street style always gives me awesome ideas on how to re-wear what I already own.

Q: Inspiration behind the look?
Mel: Spain! The Spanish style is very simple but bold and dynamic. I wanted to work with that.
Q: How would you define your style?
Mel: Punk kid has fun. I really look at my style as revolving and boundless, there isn’t anything that can’t be made mine.
Q: Who are your style icons?
Mel:Isabella Blow, Gia Carangi, Angelina Jolie and Mae West
Q: Where do you like to shop?
Mel: Forever 21 and online. Most of the time I really have something in mind that I want and it isn’t always “modern” and I don’t want to be bound by that, so I search the world wide web!
Q: Have you ever been to NYFW, if so when and what was your fave part?
Mel: I have not been, but they won’t be able to keep me out for long.
Q: Who is your fave designer?
Mel: There are so many to pick from really! I just like a designer who stays consistent. I consistently like what they produce.
Q: Whose show are you most looking forward to this year?
Mel: I’m always excited to see what Moschino is going to do.
Q: What do you like about NYFW more, the runway shows or the street style and why?
Mel: Wherever the true risk-takers are.

As you can see, none of us are going to be attending Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. (Pause) *Cries eyes out* So kidding. Although some of us are slightly disgruntled to not be apart of the shows, street style, and glam after-parties with mega supermodels, we decided to have our own little NWFW inspired shoot in none other but the D!
Photo: Worldiction
So, JB (with the fur) came up with an idea. Let’s play in clothes (what we usually do anyway) and come up with what we’d wear if we were going to attend NYFW. Genius idea. And how can I deny a photoshoot with the baes 🙂

Our goal here was to fake laugh, which turned into full blown cackles, witch laughter, and hooting. lol
Along with our photographer Scott of Worldiction Arts, we welcomed Nigel, the cool videographer.
Shout out to Alua Aumade for the black and white handmade neck piece (jabot). He’s also got some dope bow-ties. Support your local businesses and check out his Etsy.
We’ll be posting pics of the entire photo shoot the entire week of NYFW on all of our blogs. Stay turned, fashionistas.

I had a photo shoot planned that morning that I’d been working on for the last few weeks. Tamara of Ashley Stewart emailed, asking if I’d like to cover the event and be a special guest. I couldn’t refuse.
The fashion show was awesome and the energy was high.
Here are my top “Three” picks:
1. The tulle skirt. It can be paired with a cami, a denim button-up, or a blazer. Such a versatile piece.
2. A tribal print dress.

Style Blog X Self
I’ve been blogging for a little second now, but just beginning to take it seriously. Hell, I’ve just started to take myself seriously. Instead of treating my blog like Instagram or Facebook, where I post pretty pictures, I should be treating it like a diary–a virtual diary. Isn’t that’s what blogs are for? Blogs were created to be that independent platform where creatives and internet revolutionaries could have a voice.
Since I am turning the big 2.8. and embarking on different journeys, I am self-reflecting on who I am, what am I doing, and what had I initially set out to do? In these days and times, the world is so fast, people have quick access to so many avenues and channels that no one has time to stop, mediate, and think. And since, I am nearing 30, I feel the need to take a breather and take it down a notch.
Life is everything vs. self. You always have to come back to self at the end of the day. I think that’s important to say, but so easily forgotten. I need the same reminder as well. That’s why I am so grateful to have creatives around me so that they can say, “Hey, you’re getting crazy. Come back to life and we’ll talk. K?”
Like my buddy, Madinah 🙂 Who beats my face and takes photos of me. What more could I ask for? Haha.
I think everyone should walk through life with a long cape on and a smile on their face. We’re getting old, have fun sometimes!
I had a lot of fun with this shoot, even though it was hot as heck outside. Us, Michiganders, aren’t used to very hot days. lol.
Stubby ‘n’ fierce. Bye Felicia!
