When bloggers get together, it gets a little crazy. We take random usies.

SAM_3748-0

We pretend to act cool. Haha.

SAM_3769-0

We even stick our tongues out.

SAM_3764-0

But deep down, we genuinely share a love for fashion and art. We strive to inspire through our creations.

We come from different backgrounds.

Shout out to Bobcat Bonnie’s for housing us rowdy bloggers. Food was good and the service was on point.

Empowerment: Fashion Blogger Style

Life is funny. The right people kind of just fall into your lap when you least expect it. I met these crazy fashion bloggers at different times, but it is like we’ve known each other for years.

I’ve been blogging for about 2+ years now and didn’t even know there were other local bloggers like myself floating around the city. We’ve bounced around from fashion show to fashion show, colliding at the last step. And this happened.

We decided to do a silver and black themed shoot, geared towards empowerment, strength, and entrepreneurship. Basically, everything we aspire to be and want to inspire others to partake in. Scott M., Worldiction, a local art photographer allowed our creative juices to flow without interruption.

Each of our personalities and styles are different, yet we all have a common goal of wanting to empower each other through our blogs and vlogs as well as our audiences by encouraging creativity and individuality, a strong sense of self.

This year has been a whirlwind of successes and failures. But as I keep pushing and meeting new people who inspire me every moment, I find the failures shrinking. Life is about living through our experiences and finding out what we’re supposed to learn from them. I am thankful to have a set of empowering women–and men–who push me to be something more, something greater than myself.

Amor De Fashion Show IV

Screenshot_2015-07-27-15-06-00I grabbed a few of my fashion blogger friends.

Below are a few of my favorite looks of the show:

SAM_2279I really like the contrast of the light blazer with the dark denim.

SAM_2275Neon trim and bold prints.

SAM_2226Again I am digging the bright on bright look. And check out that skull clutch.

SAM_2229I tend to check outfits for the details. Can you spot the one’s I like?

SAM_2270One of the hosts in a mesh-paneled leather bodycon.

SAM_2264You can never go wrong in a cat-woman bodysuit.

SAM_2246Thaad, our photographer for the evening and his boo. Hehe.

Y’all get the beat face Leah V and y’all gonna get the haven’t washed up, dry faced, sick af Leah V, too. Life isn’t always glamorous. It’s very interesting how alone I feel when I get super sick. This is my second time being sick. My immune system has failed me. I had run out of groceries and medicine and was depressed about not having anyone to go to the store for me. I wished I was back in my hometown. At least I had my people. I also have a hard time asking for help because I don’t like bothering or owing people. On top of feeling lonely, I was supposed to use this weekend to catch up on work, but because my head is pounding and I can’t sit or stand for more than a few minutes, I have been stuck in bed. I feel lazy. I don’t feel beautiful. I don’t feel accomplished. I feel much bigger than I am. My body hurts. I’m nitpicking about my face. And, I feel as though I should be strong enough to force myself to work even through the pain. When I should be allowing myself to rest and ask for help. But, when you’ve been on your own for so long. When you’ve been the only person you can count and depend on, you kinda fall into the trap of maintaining the walls you’ve built around yourself. There’s a price to pay for being vulnerable and visible and strong. Do you have a hard time asking for help, why or why not? When do you find yourself most lonely? Also, send healing vibes and prayers and cold remedies and funny sayings to lift my spirits. Let’s chat. P.S. I should’ve know soup that has “skinny” in the title wasn’t gonna be appetizing 😂😭 #newyorkblogger #psootd #plussize #instafashion #bodypositive #honormycurves #effyourbeautystandards #pizzasisters4lyfe #blackgirlswhoblog #fashion #londonblogger #psfashion #blackgirlmagic #muslimgirl #bodyconfidence #plusmodel #feminist #wiw #intersectionalfeminism #turbanista #bodydysmorphia #fatacceptance #selflove #goldenconfidence #beautyblogger #mentalhealthawareness #selfportrait #nofilter #acne
