The wait is over. I am finally blogging about my Black & Gold Birthday Soiree photos last month. Although it was stressful, we had a great time. I was even able to style the models above with wardrobe courtesy of Thrift on the Ave and Green and Glamorous. Thanks loves 🙂

“Your arms are showing? I thought you were Muslim. Lol. I’m so confused.” Welp. You’ll stay confused and then blocked. I’m angsty today because well it has been a throw-the-whole-day-in-the-trash kinda day. But, I have time in between anxiety to address confusion. Yes. I put my life on the net for all to critique. That’s cool. Do I wish I could go back to anonymity? Sometimes. Unfortunately folks think that since I’m behind the screen they can assume who I am through only a part of what I share. That’s not fair. Internet people are real people in real life. I share snippets of my life because it helps me cope. Secondly, because it helps other ppl cope. To share things they’ve never shared before or just get it off their chest or feel a little less alone in world. Honestly, I’m not arguing with or appeasing anyone about how I choose to live as a Muslim. I’m past that part of my life where I had to constantly defend my Muslim-ness. What I choose to say. Wear or not. Is between my creator and I. I don’t want unsolicited advice on what I should be doing. I’m sorry but the sleeves or lack of sleeves on a shirt isn’t enough to question my faith. Anyone’s faith! If you’d like to follow a sleeve wearing Hijabi then feel free. Lastly, 👏🏾I’m 👏🏾not👏🏾the👏🏾poster👏🏾child👏🏾for👏🏾all👏🏾muslim👏🏾women. Stop putting me on a pedestal. I’m struggling like the next person. Shit, I’m constantly questioning who I am. I don’t have all the answers. All I can do is try and live my best life. *Adjusts hijab* *Tongue pop* Has anyone ever shoved their beliefs or culture down your throat? How do you handle it? And, do you feel the need to be a poster child for your group? Any race and religion can answer. Let’s chat.
