Fashion Blogger Meet & Greet

Before I get into all the fabulous pictures and my beat face and the event, I want to stop and thank Summiyah for inviting me to Atlanta to run a photo shoot (photos coming soon)! We talked back and forth for over six weeks trying to come up with ideas and concepts. She said, “Let’s do ragin’ turbans!”

My reply, “Let’s do it. When and where?”

So, thanks so much for allowing me to create, showcase my talents, and merge them with your own.

*Muah 🙂

(The Hubby)

I want to give a large shout out to my husband for making it possible for me to travel. He also helped behind the scenes. He ironed model’s clothes and he set up equipment. Thanks bae!

I also styled him. You like his vintage shirt?

Eid16

Eid Prayer was early, early in the morning. I borrowed this amazing hijab (head scarf) from my friend. I’m not sure the exact color name, but I called it burnt orange or pumpkin.

Eid11

Ahhh, no make-up on….Well at least no foundation. I felt a little naked.

Birthday Ice Cream “Stylistah-Style”

cC1  Waiting for the birthday girl, Madinah, to come. Always fashionably late. Smh.

C2C9 (Left) Madinah looking absolutely stunning in a white turban, electric blue blazer, and floral print wedges. Happy Birthday! (Right) Raushanah has on a striped sundress, lots of bangles on her arms, and a leopard print scarf to tie in the entire look. Edge at its best.

C6C7 Opening gifts. She over here looking like I love Lucy. LOL.

C8 Acting a mess outside.

C4C5 I bought this lime paisley sundress from Macy’s last summer. I paired it with a thin navy jacket and a hot yellow turban. Did it on em’.

I remember being a girl very much so into fashion and going to stores where they had a small, tiny sections for plus-size women all the way in the back of the store or near the furniture, in the basement. No effort was put into the style of the mannequins. No bright colors or bold prints. The spaces were drab and dull. But the straight-size section was up front. Colors and racks upon racks of choices. A true stylista’s playground. For a little girl who was a size 16 at 13 years old, how do you think that made me feel? How many of us has had to take the walk of shame to the plus-size section and settle? So, I bought a pair of jeans that were three sizes too small. My “fitspo” jeans. If I could starve myself enough to get into those jeans, shop in the straight-size section, then and only then would my worth align. Worth hadn’t belong to fatties like me. Or that’s what society had brainwashed me to believe. Although we have a long way to go, I’m so glad there are a retailers out there that I can actually fit my wide size 24 thighs into these @warpweftworld jeans and top comfortably. Have you ever bought too small clothes for motivation to lose weight? What size were you when you were little? Any body can chime in. Let’s chat.
